How Much Does Paint Protection Film (PPF) Cost in Sydney?
Clear paint protection film (PPF) at our Chatswood workshop starts from $2,200, and a full-body colour PPF wrap starts from $7,700. We install LLumar and STEK film. The price depends mostly on how much of the car you cover, the size and shape of the car, and the film you choose.

Colour PPF: Change the Colour and Protect the Paint
Colour PPF changes your car's colour like a vinyl wrap, but it's made from the same thick, self-healing urethane as clear PPF. So you get a new colour and protection against stone chips and light scratches in one film. It costs more than a vinyl wrap because the film is thicker and takes longer to install. See our car wrap cost guide for vinyl colour-change prices.
What Affects the Cost of PPF?
Coverage
Most of the price difference comes from how much of the car is covered: the high-impact front panels, a full front, or the full body.
Clear or Colour Film
Colour PPF costs more than clear film.
Vehicle Size & Complexity
Vents, sharp creases and sensors add cutting and installation time.
Paint Condition
Film locks in whatever is underneath it, so swirls and scratches are usually corrected first.
Edge Finishing
Wrapped edges hide the film line better than film cut to the panel edge, but they take longer.
Removing Old Film
Old or failed PPF has to come off before new film goes on.
PPF vs Ceramic Coating: Which Do You Need?
Paint Protection Film
PPF is a physical barrier. It absorbs stone chips, scratches and road debris before they reach the paint.
Ceramic Coating
A ceramic coating adds gloss and chemical and UV resistance, but it won't stop chips.
Many of our clients combine the two: PPF on the high-impact front panels and a ceramic coating over the rest of the car. See our ceramic coating cost guide.

PPF Cost FAQs
Does PPF self-heal?add
Yes. Light scratches and swirl marks in the film disappear with heat from the sun or the engine.
Can PPF be removed?add
Yes. When removed professionally, the film comes off without harming or staining the paint underneath.
Is full front enough for Sydney driving?add
For most daily drivers, yes. The front bumper, bonnet, guards and mirrors take most stone chips. If you do a lot of motorway driving or plan to keep the car for many years, full body gives complete coverage.
What brands of PPF do you use?add
We install LLumar and STEK paint protection film.

Important Information
- All prices are starting prices in Australian dollars, include GST, and are a guide only. Your final price depends on coverage, vehicle size and complexity, clear or colour film, and edge finishing, and is confirmed in a written quote after inspection.
- Paint correction and removal of old film, where needed, can add to the final price.
- Self-healing applies to light scratches and swirl marks in the film's top layer. It doesn't repair deep scratches, chips or damage that goes through the film.
- PPF greatly reduces stone chips and scratches but can't prevent all damage, such as from large or sharp debris or a collision.
- Clean removal assumes factory paint in good condition. Resprayed, repaired or already damaged paint can lift when film is removed.
